A New Chapter for Battlefield 2042: Looking Forward with Motive Studio
Battlefield Community,
Since the launch of Battlefield 2042, we’ve been committed to delivering four seasons of engaging content, including fresh maps, specialists, weapons, vehicles, and more. As we progressed through these seasons, your feedback has been invaluable, highlighting your continued passion for Battlefield 2042. We’ve taken these insights to heart, striving to enhance the game and glean important lessons for our future endeavors.
In our latest update, Season 7: Turning Point, we introduced an electrifying urban map set in Chile, along with a host of new weapons and gadgets. This included a revamped version of the Stadium location from Hourglass, complemented by two exciting themed events, with more content on the horizon.
However, as we chart the course for Battlefield’s future, we’ve made the decision to conclude formal seasons with the conclusion of Season 7. Rest assured, we remain committed to supporting the game with regular updates, challenges, events, and ongoing maintenance.
While we understand that this news may come as a disappointment, we’re excited to share our vision for the next chapter of the Battlefield series. To bring this vision to life, Motive Studio – renowned for their work on Dead Space and Star Wars: Squadrons – is assembling a dedicated team focused on Battlefield. Leveraging their expertise with Frostbite and narrative-driven gameplay, Motive joins DICE, Criterion, and Ripple Effect in shaping the future of Battlefield across both multiplayer and single-player experiences.
Battlefield 2042 has been a significant part of the franchise, shaped by your feedback and passion. We’re grateful for your support as we embark on this new journey, and we’re eager to reveal more about what lies ahead.
Thank you for being part of the Battlefield community.
